The one where the past doesn’t seem to matter.
Kathy Griffin did something really stupid and pretty gross today. She posted this picture.
It really is in terrible taste and she has since apologized and taken the picture down saying she’d gone too far. She was right.
What concerns me far more than any picture or lapse in judgment causing one to post such a gross picture, is the reaction from Trump supporters.
To them, this is treason. She should be jailed for threatening the president, after being tarred and feathered. She has certainly received rape threats and death threats.
It seems they’ve completely forgotten how quiet they were when their friends were lynching and burning Obama in effigy.
I’m sure there will be plenty of ridiculous attempts at justification, when faced with their hypocrisy, from Trump’s cuckservative supporters. They’ll tell us that it isn’t the same, that Obama was way worse, that he somehow had it coming, and they wouldn’t have done that anyway, that’s the other people. It will be disgusting and they will be wrong.
Kathy Griffin was wrong. She has apologized. Her being wrong does not negate the hate, racism, and threats that these same people ignored for 8 years. Don’t let them forget it. Don’t let them forget the bigotry and violent hate they directed at our past president, they don’t deserve to play the aghast, disgusted, concerned citizens that they’re pretending to be.
