I can’t take it anymore.
The Republicans have nominated a screaming bigoted cheese puff, lawmakers won’t get out of my uterus, police keep killing black men, police keep dying, and Bernie Sanders won’t get the nomination at the DNC. Prince died, David Bowie died, my children are at a weird and newly mouthy stage in life, my house is a mess, it’s really stupid and hot outside, I’m broke, and the Kansas City Royals are playing .500 baseball 10 days before the trade deadline.
To paraphrase the great Crash Davis, I’m dealing with a lot of shit. We all are. Unfortunately for my closest and dearest family and friends, the way I generally deal with this level of shit is rambling and ranting about it for hours on end initially and then bring it up several more times every time a new thought occurs to me, essentially holding them hostage to me vocally processing my experiences. They deserve a break. Instead, I will use this platform to explore my thoughts on the wonders and woes of the world we live in. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to fully flesh out and edit my thoughts for cohesion before I share them. At best, something I say will start a conversation. At worst, I will be able to have a normal conversation with my loved ones because my brain won’t be in overdrive.
If you’ve found this little corner of the internet and like something you see, leave a comment. I’d love to talk to you about it. I’ll even try to do more on the topic or a similar piece on a different topic. If you don’t like what you see, let’s talk about that too. So often the best solutions, the best ideas are born from disagreement.
